blah

Its friday and I don’t feel like working. I just got a breakfast sandwich from the cafeteria downstairs and decided to go for the English Muffin today, instead of the toast like I usually get. I’m dissapointed. The toast is better.

This has been a long week. I went to work with Nick on Sunday to help him with a big wiring closet project. We were home before 1am, but I was kinda wired and took some time to wind down before I could sleep. Started the week off on a dragging note. Since we were both pretty zonked, we didn’t ride on Monday night, and just vegged.

It rained on Tuesday. Even though I’d said “if it rains on Tuesday, we have to ride the trainers”, we didn’t. We were both still pretty whooped, and Nick had bashed his toe somehow and thought bike shoes would be kinda torturous. I didn’t mind the extra break.

Wednesday, I was starting to recover. But, there was that Great Big Sea concert in Windsor 🙂 .. It was a really fantastic show. GBS had no openening band, they started playing at 8pm and continued on until 10:30 ish .. An extreme amount of talent on that stage … Good times …

Windsor is a cool place .. gonna have to spend more time there, i think ..

So, yesterday was a beautiful day. I finally got the bike out and rode for the first time since Saturday. We met Jess at a school by Addison and headed out for a couple of laps. Jess only did one lap as she had a dinner date .. Nick and I did 2 laps..

12 hours of Addison is a week from tomorrow. I’m really glad to be doing the race on a 4 person team this year, because I’m still in the ‘learning’ stages of my new bike noggin 😉 .. The course is short, but busy. Its a super fun trail with lots of great lines and flow. Also, lots of rock gardens and log crossings – which sounds uber fun (and is uber fun), until you’ve gone over them 6 or 7 times in one day. Then, they just become pain .. hehe … I’m looking forward to doing this race on the full suspension bike with the extra chainring (last year, I did the race 2 person, on my cannondale hardtail with only a middle and big chainring up front) ..

Last night was just gorgeous. The trail was in really good shape and although I was pushing myself pretty hard, I had a good time. I felt like I had more power on the hills, and wasn’t bothered by some of the hills that really bothered me last year. So, I left the trail feeling good. I didn’t have the best ride and was a little “off my game”, but I felt good about what I did.

Go me 🙂
